BOM Specifications Specialist - Bill of Material Specialist
Our client in pharmaceuticals is currently seeking an experienced Documentation Control/ Purchasing Specialist to manage release and control of updates to instructions, specifications, drawings and other documents (mostly bills of materials). Incumbent will control distribution of new releases and recall/destruction of obsolete documents.
About the role:
Responsible for tasks and projects related to Bill of Material (BOM) Creation, BOM Maintenance, Packaging Component Specification Creation, and Specification maintenance. Work may also include working on project teams to assist a new launch or rebranding. Projects will achieve business, quality, and compliance objectives, and must be executed in a manner that assures full compliance with government regulations and internal company standards and values.
Requirements:
Contribute on cross-functional projects and may lead some focused teams, with involvement and coaching from their supervisor.
Ability to identify documents needed from customers & ability to verify information on documents.
Understand Change Controls and how they relate to Quality requirements and Tech Services qualification & verification work.
Understand how the BOM is used on the floor and how the packaging specs are used by our lab & the suppliers.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and interpersonal skills are required.
Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office and SharePoint – preferred.
Capable of managing multiple projects – required.
Ability to review component specifications and drawings.
Ability to work with planning and customer service departments to understand needs and SAP transactions that they use.
+ 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
Manufacturing background preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Procurement or a related field.
