Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually

What’s a typical day as Food Scientist? You’ll be:
- Providing project leadership in the development and commercialization of new products, product improvement, and cost savings
- Designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and making technical recommendations for specific projects
- Developing process specifications and ensuring accurate knowledge transfer to QA and Operations teams
- Supporting Operations and QA to resolve ingredient, formula, and process issues, and managing product/process changes
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new products, equipment, or processes
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product development, reduce costs, and expedite speed to market
- Acting as a liaison between Culinary, Production, Sales, Finance, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams
- Translating bench specifications to on-floor processes for smooth rollouts of new products and equipment
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Food Engineering, with a strong Baking Science background
- Have 0–5 years of experience (internships or co-ops with food manufacturers strongly preferred)
- Are experienced in new product development, prototyping, and commercialization within a manufacturing environment
- Possess recipe/formulation and raw material knowledge
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Are proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), SharePoint, and ERP systems
- Are self-directed, responsible for managing your own projects and meeting timelines
- Are able/willing to work off hours or extended time during product scale ups and travel up to 30% as needed
