Maintenance Mechanic – Direct Hire
Location:
Hingham, MA
Pay: $30–$35/hour (based on experience) +$1/hour for 3rd shift
1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
2nd Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
3rd Shift: 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM

Position Overview
KELLY
is seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanics to support the maintenance and repair of production machinery and facility equipment to ensure optimal productivity, safety, and compliance. This role is responsible for performing mechanical and electrical maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment

  • Wire and rewire machines according to technical specifications

  • Conduct system checks to ensure proper function of electrical and mechanical components

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate machinery and equipment on a routine basis

  • Inspect, test, and adjust systems and equipment to maintain operational efficiency

  • Complete and document preventive maintenance tasks using logs and tracking systems

  • Respond to maintenance requests and equipment issues in a timely manner

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer specifications

  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment using hand and power tools

  • Replace or refurbish damaged or worn components

  • Install new equipment and support machine setup and integration

  • Provide written recommendations for repairs and continuous improvement

  • Perform scheduled monthly and annual maintenance activities

  • Maintain proper handling and control of shop chemicals

  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards

  • Report any food safety or quality concerns to Production or QA leadership

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company standards

  • Support additional maintenance or operational duties as needed

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or related field

  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills

  • Experience working with production machinery and automated equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and documentation practices

  • Understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in food production or regulated manufacturing environments

  • Familiarity with PLCs and automated systems (basic troubleshooting)

  • OSHA safety training or similar certifications
