Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00PM
Job Description:
Kelly Services is seeking an Entry-Level Laboratory Technician to join Nelson Labs’ Protective Barriers department in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on lab experience with a world-class laboratory testing provider. The position is temporary through August 31st, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs. We are looking for candidates who can start immediately.

About the Protective Barriers Department:
Protective barriers refer to personal protective equipment (PPE) materials used to prevent the transmission of infectious agents, fluids, and particles. The Protective Barriers department at Nelson Labs provides testing and validation services to ensure these products—including medical masks, respirators, surgical gowns, and drapes—meet rigorous industry safety standards.
Special Note:
This position requires you to wear full laboratory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times—including a suit, gloves, and mask—while working in the Protective Barriers department. You must be comfortable working in this type of environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, sterilize, and organize lab glassware and media.
- Maintain clean, orderly workspaces at all times.
- Follow established laboratory procedures and documentation protocols.
- Uphold GMP, GLP, ISO, and company standards.
- Report on quality issues and contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Operate laboratory and office equipment as required.
- Complete required training and assigned tasks promptly.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous lab experience is a plus, but not required—experience in restaurants or warehouses is also valuable.
- Must be comfortable wearing full PPE (suit, gloves, mask) during shift.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work the scheduled shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00PM
- Must be able to start immediately.
- A background check and drug test are required prior to starting.
