Position: Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate shipment of products as well as verifying incoming shipments to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. This role supports inventory control, logistics, and warehouse operations while upholding quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Incoming Shipments:
Receive and verify daily shipments from small package carriers and truck deliveries. Match purchase orders with delivery slips, input information into ERP systems, and distribute products to designated areas.
- Freight Management:
Unload deliveries using a forklift, check package counts and due dates, inspect for damages, and record data accurately.
- Inventory Administration:
Maintain control over inbound materials, parts, and supplies. Verify contents and determine appropriate handling and storage.
- Shipping Operations:
Prepare, package, and address outgoing shipments using small package services and freight carriers. Complete all necessary shipping documentation including internal air bills, bill-of-ladings, and invoices.
- ERP & System Updates:
Process shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions within the ERP system. Run daily shipping reports and close out UPS/FedEx accounts.
- Logistics Coordination:
Arrange pickup and transport of packages via various carriers. Handle returns and coordinate transportation for completed orders.
- Quality & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to established quality and safety standards and contribute to the maintenance of a compliant work environment.
- Warehouse Support:
Assist with general warehouse maintenance and organization. Prioritize and organize orders for shipment based on required ship dates.
Requirements
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficient with computers and data entry systems
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Reliable eyesight, either natural or corrected, to ensure quality work
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds regularly
- Quick learner who works both independently and collaboratively within the Production Control team
- Skilled in operating forklifts
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in shipping and receiving operations
