Hours: Monday-Friday Business Hours

Location: This position is ONSITE in Hopkinsville, KY</strong>; must be able to commute to Hopkinsville, KY.

What’s a typical day as Plant Controller? You’ll be:
– Maintaining a strong control environment and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and company policy.
– Managing a complete and thorough month-end and quarterly close process.
– Ensuring full compliance and improvement to site internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (Key Controls) requirements.
– Coordinating and scheduling year-end plant physical inventory and overseeing and supporting cycle counting.
– Maintaining inventory control procedures and assisting in their development.
– Overseeing preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of specific accounts to assist.
– Maintaining and controlling the fixed asset sub-ledger and monitoring and reviewing fixed asset expenditures, CIP reviews, and fixed asset audits.
– Proactively identifying business or accounting risks and implementing countermeasures where appropriate.
– Being a strong example of integrity and ‘Doing the Right Thing’.
– Functioning as a business partner with the Plant Manager and operations team to provide reporting and transparency that drive actionable results.
– Preparing and managing actual, forecast, and budget scenarios throughout the course of the year.
– Analyzing and interpreting plant performance, evaluating variances, and assessing the effects on plant results.
– Providing scenario modeling and ad hoc analysis in a business case format to help drive decisions.

 This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
– Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a financial discipline from a four-year college/university.
– Have prior experience in Manufacturing Operations.
– Possess the ability to work independently and know when to ask for help in resolving specific financial issues, working with all levels of the organization.
– Have knowledge of financial accounting principles and concepts to perform tasks listed in Responsibilities above.
– Have strong knowledge of cost accounting including standard costing, budgeting, cash flow forecasting techniques, financial statement analysis including key trends analysis, project costing techniques, financial controls, and business case analysis.
– Are strategically oriented and driven to make process improvements.
– Have expertise in MS Office; familiarity with JD Edwards, Sage Fixed Assets, or Hyperion Financial Management is a plus.
