This is a temp-hire position, on 1st shift, paying $19.00/hour
Must be able to work overtime as needed
hat’s a typical day as Press Assistant? You’ll be:
- Assisting the press operator directly during make readies and job runs
- Staging and loading raw material rolls for the operator, ensuring core tag accessibility
- Making quality splices and assisting with machine changeovers and web breaks
- Labeling finished rolls and maintaining accurate logs of roll numbers and changes
- Reporting equipment breakdowns and supporting safety policies and procedures in the Finishing Department
- Covering for operators during breaks or vacations as needed
- Maintaining a neat and orderly pressroom, relocating skids, and ensuring product separation
- Consulting with supervisors and Quality Assurance on quality issues and assisting with root cause analysis and process improvements
- Performing other duties as assigned to maximize press hall equipment efficiency
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have a High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Are willing and able to work overtime as needed
- Have a desire to learn and eventually operate a press independently
- Possess S.M.E.D. training (preferred)
- Are detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to safety and quality
- Enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
