Position: Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop solenoid assemblies, electro-magnetic actuators, and related control devices for aerospace fluid-control applications

  • Perform magnetic circuit analysis, coil design, force calculations, thermal analysis, and performance optimization

  • Support new product development from concept through qualification and production release

  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams to ensure product integration and manufacturability

  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation

  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for product performance or reliability issues

  • Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and qualification activities

  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on technical design requirements

  • Participate in design reviews, FMEA activities, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with aerospace quality and regulatory standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in:

    • Solenoid design

    • Electro-magnetic device design

    • Actuator development

    • Motion control systems


  • Strong understanding of:

    • Magnetic circuit theory

    • Electromagnetics

    • Coil winding and wire selection

    • Force/stroke optimization

    • Thermal performance and power consumption


  • Experience with:

    • Solenoid valves

    • Linear actuators

    • Rotary actuators

    • Latching solenoids

    • Precision electro-mechanical systems


  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX

  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) tools for magnetic and thermal modeling (preferred)

  • Ability to interpret aerospace specifications, drawings, and qualification requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace or defense industry experience

  • Experience designing products for harsh environments (vibration, temperature extremes, high reliability)

  • Familiarity with hydraulic or pneumatic control systems

  • Knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace development processes

  • Experience supporting qualification testing and certification activities

  • Exposure to MIL-STD or DO-160 requirements
