Job Description – General Labor / Forklift Operator
Location: Vandalia, OH
Pay Rate: $23.50/hour
Shifts Available:

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Monday–Friday)

Requirements: Steel-toe shoes required

Position Overview
This position involves general labor duties in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities include operating equipment, maintaining cleanliness, handling materials, and supporting production operations. The work environment may be dusty or dirty and requires physical activity such as bending, stooping, and twisting.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general labor tasks including housekeeping, equipment operation, and production support
Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks (PIT) as needed
Load, unload, and move materials and products throughout the facility
Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures
Complete repetitive production tasks efficiently and accurately
Assist with additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Basic math skills (counting, measuring, simple calculations)
Strong communication skills in individual and team settings
Ability to perform repetitive work in a fast-paced environment
Dependable with a strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and perform physically demanding tasks
Comfortable working in industrial conditions (dusty/dirty environment)

Equipment & Technical Requirements

Must be able to operate or learn to operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts, pallet jacks)
Required to pass Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training and certification
Basic computer skills for occasional system use

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred

Training

On-the-job training provided
Skills can be learned quickly with proper instruction and practice
