Schedule: First Shift – 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Duration: 6 Months, Temp-to-Hire


Position Overview
Kelly is seeking a skilled Welder for a first-shift position with a well-established manufacturing team. This temp-to-hire opportunity is perfect for candidates eager to grow with a reputable company. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong MIG welding skills, basic construction knowledge, and a proactive, positive work attitude.


Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret shop drawings and blueprints to assemble and weld components.

  • Accurately read and use tape measures.

  • Set up MIG/MP welding machines for production.

  • Perform GMAW and FCAW welding processes (MIG and Flux-Core) on mild steel.

  • Safely use power tools including drills, impact drivers, and angle grinders.

  • Follow safety practices while working from ladders and scissor lifts, and wear required fall protection and respirator.

  • Participate in setting up, operating, and tending welding, soldering, or brazing machines.

  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.

  • Inspect workpieces for defects; use measurement tools to check conformance.

  • Operate hand and power tools standard to the welding trade.

  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling as needed.

Top 3 Skills Required

  1. MIG Welding Experience – Experience with both MIG and flux-core welding preferred.

  2. General Construction Skills – Proficiency with measuring, cutting, grinding, and using a variety of hand and power tools.

  3. Positive Attitude – Initiative and willingness to learn and contribute in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with overhead cranes and scissor lifts a plus.

  • Able to wear and work using provided disposable respirators and gloves (candidate must bring their own welding hood).

  • Comfortable with approximately 50% welding and 50% general fabrication/construction duties.

Interview & Weld Test Process
Qualified candidates will be invited for:

  • 30-minute onsite interview

  • 30-minute weld test (bring your own welding hood; other PPE provided)
