Job details
Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer to support purchasing and supply chain operations in a fast-paced engineered-to-order (ETO) manufacturing environment. This is a 6-month contract position.
The ideal candidate will have experience purchasing electrical or electro-mechanical parts and components as well as manage supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective purchase of materials to support production.
Responsibilities
• Procure materials, components, equipment, tools, and services to support manufacturing operations.
• Review and process purchase requisitions while ensuring timely order placement and delivery.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and supplier agreements to achieve cost savings and improve performance.
• Expedite critical orders and resolve supplier delivery issues as needed.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, planning, and sales teams to ensure material availability and support demand forecasts.
• Assist with inventory planning and management to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Support component standardization initiatives and help drive continuous improvement within the supply chain.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records within the ERP system.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years of purchasing and supply chain experience within an engineered-to-order (ETO) manufacturing environment.
Electrical component purchasing experience is highly desired.
• Strong supplier management, sourcing, and contract negotiation experience.
• Experience working with ERP systems | NetSuite experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
