Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Test Engineering Supervisor for a direct-hire opportunity with a global manufacturer of advanced automotive service equipment located in the St. Louis, Missouri area.
Compensation
$90,000 – $110,000

This organization designs and manufactures sophisticated mechanical, electrical, and software-integrated equipment used by automotive manufacturers, dealerships, tire retailers, and service centers worldwide. Reporting directly to the Test Engineering Manager, the Test Engineering Supervisor will provide day-to-day leadership for a team of Test Engineers and Test Technicians responsible for validating products prior to release. The ideal candidate brings proven people leadership experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a hands-on technical background involving machinery, equipment, vehicles, industrial systems, or similar technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Test Engineers and Test Technicians.
- Coordinate testing priorities, resources, and project schedules across multiple development programs.
- Monitor testing progress and ensure milestones align with product release timelines.
- Support validation efforts involving mechanical systems, electrical systems, software functionality, and end-user usability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify product issues, improve reliability, and enhance customer experience.
- Drive process improvements that increase testing efficiency, consistency, and overall team effectiveness.
- Communicate project status, testing results, and recommendations to leadership.
- Serve as a technical resource supporting troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and product evaluation activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or managing technical employees, including responsibility for coaching, performance management, and employee development.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience working with machinery, equipment, vehicles, electromechanical systems, or industrial products.
- Ability to understand how physical products operate, fail, and are repaired.
- Experience in testing, product validation, manufacturing, quality, product development, or related engineering disciplines is preferred.
- Automotive, heavy equipment, industrial machinery, diesel engine, aerospace, or similar industry experience is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
