Shipping & Receiving Assistant
Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Assistant supports the shipping and receiving operations within the organization. This position is critical in ensuring efficient movement and accurate handling of materials throughout the facility.
Essential Functions:
- Stage products between receiving and shipping departments
- Prepare and package shipments; create shipping notices
- Confirm incoming shipments against packing lists and perform basic computer entries
- Monitor inventory movement and assist with annual physical inventory counts
- Communicate with other departments regarding shipments
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move pallets
- Maintain cleanliness in shipping and storage areas
- Assist in unloading trucks
- Follow instructions and duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications & Competencies:
- High school diploma required
- Minimum 1 year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving
- Forklift experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and positive attitude
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Detail oriented and self-motivated
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to read/write English
- Math skills; ability to carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Safety conscious
Work Environment:
- Operates in an office and warehouse environment, using standard office equipment (computer, phone, etc.)
- Physical role requiring lifting, bending, and standing as necessary
Position Details:
- Full-time
- 1st shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Pay: $20.00 per hour
- No travel expected
