Bookkeeper – Accounting and Administrative Assistant

Location: Woburn, MA
Schedule: Flexible, 25–30 hours per week
Compensation: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour

We are working with an established commercial and industrial property management company serving the Greater Boston area. They pride themselves on providing exceptional service to our tenants while maintaining a collaborative and supportive work environment. Seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join their team in a flexible role with the potential to grow into a full-time opportunity.

Position Overview
This position is ideal for an experienced bookkeeping professional who enjoys variety in their day and thrives in a small office environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the financial and administrative functions of property management business, while serving as a professional and friendly point of contact for tenants and vendors.

The schedule offers flexibility, with approximately 25- 30 hours per week.
Preferred hours are between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general bookkeeping duties, including maintaining ledgers and recording financial transactions.

  • Prepare and maintain monthly profit and loss statements for multiple property accounts.

  • Manage bookkeeping activities for approximately nine commercial property entities.

  • Reconcile accounts and maintain organized financial records.

  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls in a professional manner.

  • Provide excellent customer service and interact with tenants regarding inquiries and requests.

  • Assist with the preparation and processing of lease documentation.

  • Update and maintain tenant records and databases.

  • Support day-to-day administrative operations as needed.

  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to prepare reports and correspondence.

  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • Previous bookkeeping experience required

  • Experience with manual bookkeeping and general accounting principles.

  • Strong understanding of profit and loss statements and financial recordkeeping.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong customer service and communication abilities.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

  • Reliable, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Professional demeanor with a positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.

  • Commercial or industrial real estate experience is a plus.
