Role Overview:
Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Accountant to join a municipal finance department team located in Wheat Ridge, Colorado for a temporary assignment. This position is a great fit for candidates with Advanced MS Excel skills and a solid accounting background, interested in a 2–4 week onsite opportunity. The primary focus for this role is assisting taking existing Excel workbook templates, populating them with information, and importing into OpenGov Financials. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and format Excel worksheets for import into OpenGov-Financials.

  • Reconcile bank records to book entries using OpenGov tools.

  • Process day-to-day accounting entries (debits/credits).

  • Maintain and update the chart of accounts.

  • Create and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries.

  • Assist with daily cash drawer receipting.

  • Record recurring electronic and non-electronic receipts.

  • Assisting accounts payable and other divisional functions as needed.

  • Support the team with any additional accounting and data migration needs.

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of professional accounting experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field.

  • Proficiency in Excel (primarily for formatting, cut/paste, VLOOKUP) and financial package applications.

  • Proven experience working with OpenGov-Financials is highly preferred.
