Kelly Services is hiring a Gate & Automation Service Technician for a growing commercial and residential service team in Massachusetts.
This is a great fit for someone with gate automation experience, but the company is also open to transferable technician backgrounds such as low voltage, access control, security systems, garage/overhead doors, field service, electro-mechanical repair, equipment service, or maintenance.
Job Details
Pay: $25.00–$32.00/hr, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Overtime: Lots of OT available
Type: Direct Hire
Vehicle/Phone: Company vehicle and company phone provided
Travel: Daily travel throughout Massachusetts and surrounding areas
Office: Field-based/hybrid. You only report to the office as needed to restock your truck.
On-Call: 2 weeks on call / 2 weeks off, in addition to regular 40-hour schedule

What You’ll Be Doing
- Service and repair automated gate systems
- Work on slide, swing, cantilever, vertical lift, barrier arm, and crash-rated gates
- Troubleshoot operators, motors, control boards, safety loops, photo eyes, keypads, intercoms, and access control devices
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service work
- Support installs, upgrades, and emergency service calls
- Work with mechanical, hydraulic, low-voltage, and basic electrical components
- Travel daily to customer sites and work independently in the field
This Job May Be a Great Fit If You Have
- Gate automation, access control, low voltage, security systems, field service, garage door, overhead door, maintenance, or electro-mechanical repair experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Electrical knowledge, including low voltage and basic 120V/240V
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and manufacturer documentation
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Comfort working independently and traveling daily
- Willingness to work overtime and participate in the on-call rotation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, including marijuana
Preferred Experience
- LiftMaster, DoorKing, HySecurity, FAAC, Nice, Viking, Linear, or similar systems
- UL 325 knowledge
- Commercial, HOA, industrial, or high-security gate environments
- Access control or telephone entry systems
- Welding or fabrication experience
