Pay: $28.00 – $30.00+/hour (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Control Technician to join a growing manufacturing team in La Vergne, TN. This hands-on leadership role will support quality operations on the production floor by performing process and product audits, investigating quality concerns, programming measurement equipment, supporting root cause analysis efforts, and training team members on quality best practices.

The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing quality experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure products meet customer and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform product and process audits to verify compliance with quality standards.


  • Identify, communicate, and drive closure of process and inspection non-conformances.


  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities by confirming measurements and assisting with disposition recommendations.


  • Create containment and sort instructions related to quality issues and customer complaints.


  • Program and support automated inspection equipment including CMMs, Keyence systems, OGP equipment, vision systems, and other measurement technologies.


  • Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPA) and participate in corrective action activities.


  • Analyze quality and process data to identify trends, deviations, and improvement opportunities.


  • Assist with Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies and calibration activities.


  • Create, manage, and maintain golden samples used in automated detection and measurement systems.


  • Support quality documentation including control plans, procedures, work instructions, failure catalogs, and document control.


  • Assist with customer complaint investigations, containment efforts, and root cause analysis activities.


  • Generate and maintain quality alerts and communication tools for production areas.


  • Utilize SAP and Excel to track quality data, MRB activity, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics.


  • Train operators and technicians on measurement equipment, inspection methods, and quality standards.


  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, and Operations teams to reduce scrap and improve manufacturing performance.


  • Provide technical support to Quality Engineers and Quality Management.


  • Respond to production issues and machine downtime situations requiring quality involvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.


  • 5+ years of manufacturing quality experience preferred.


  • Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection methods, and manufacturing processes.


  • Experience with CMM programming and automated measurement equipment strongly preferred.


  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.


  • Knowledge of SPC, MSA, calibration systems, and statistical analysis techniques.


  • Experience working with SAP, Excel, and quality reporting systems.


  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.


  • Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor team members.


  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
