Pay Rate: $30.00/hour + vacation pay
Duration: Temporary, 2 months
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch), 5 days in office
Kelly Services is currently recruiting for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator on behalf of a pharmaceutical manufacturing client in Strathroy, Ontario. The successful candidate will provide hands-on environmental, health, and safety support to operations while working closely with employees, supervisors, and managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct workplace inspections and identify potential hazards
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Deliver safety orientation and training for new hires and contractors
- Support daily safety walks and Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) activities
- Prepare reports, documentation, and bi-weekly safety communications
- Provide EHS guidance and support to managers, supervisors, and employees
- Assist with risk assessments and corrective action follow-up
- Support environmental compliance activities, including spill response and reporting as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Environmental Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) regulations
- Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments, and workplace inspections
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels, including operators, supervisors, and managers
- Experience preparing reports, safety communications, and presentations
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
