Ready for your next big career move? Kelly® is looking for an HR Business Partner to join a well-respected supermarket organization in San Jose, CA. If you’re seeking a role where you can use your HR expertise and drive positive change, this is your opportunity.

Salary Range:  $90,000 – $100,000 per year

Shift:  Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed based on business needs)

What’s a typical day as HR Business Partner? You’ll be:

  • Acting as the primary HR contact for store leadership and staff

  • Managing employee relations, conducting investigations, and resolving workplace issues

  • Leading recruitment and onboarding for hourly and exempt positions

  • Advising managers on performance management and corrective actions

  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies

  • Administering employee benefits, payroll, and leave management

  • Handling Workers’ Compensation, promoting safety, and coordinating return-to-work programs

  • Supporting and delivering training, maintaining accurate HR records, and preparing HR reports

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration (required)

  • Bilingual in English and Cantonese, Mandarin, or Spanish

  • Have at least 5 years of hands-on HR experience in California in high-volume environments (retail, supermarket, restaurants, manufacturing, warehouse)

  • Possess strong knowledge of Federal, California, and local labor laws

  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and use discretion in HR matters

  • Have experience managing Workers’ Compensation and conducting employee investigations

  • Are highly organized, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement

  • Are proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Are well versed in California HR labor laws

  • PHR-CA certification is a plus
