Our client is a global environmental services organization specializing in water, wastewater, waste management, and energy solutions.
Their water treatment operations help industrial and municipal customers manage, treat, recycle, and reuse water through specialized equipment, technologies, and treatment systems.
About the Position
We are looking for a Mechanical Technician II to support the production and fabrication of specialized water treatment equipment and systems.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced mechanical, fabrication, manufacturing, equipment maintenance, or service professional. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with industrial equipment, interpreting technical drawings, fabricating components, and completing mechanical assembly work with minimal supervision.
You will play an important role in supporting daily production needs while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and on-time shipment.
What You’ll Do
- Support the production and fabrication of specialized industrial water treatment equipment and systems
- Read and interpret:
- Construction blueprints
- Schematics
- Technical drawings
- Material specifications
- Construction blueprints
- Fabricate components and complete parts used in water treatment systems
- Operate a variety of industrial and fabrication equipment, including:
- Forklifts
- Scissor lifts
- Drill presses
- Belt sanders
- Band saws
- Bench grinders
- Ironworkers
- Forklifts
- Work with a variety of construction and fabrication materials and select appropriate materials based on project requirements
- Perform pipe fitting and mechanical assembly using materials and techniques appropriate for water treatment systems
- Complete assigned work with minimal supervision while following production requirements and established procedures
- Troubleshoot routine fabrication and mechanical issues and use problem-solving skills to keep production moving
- Follow all established EHS, safety, quality, and productivity procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with training and mentoring new team members on fabrication techniques, equipment operation, safety protocols, and company procedures
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented mechanical professional who can work independently while maintaining high standards for safety and quality.
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing/fabrication, equipment maintenance or service, or as a qualified mechanic
- Previous experience with fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience operating a variety of fabrication tools and industrial equipment
- Knowledge of pipe fitting techniques and materials used in water treatment systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minor oversight
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures
Previous experience as a Construction Fabricator I or equivalent is preferred.
Water treatment, industrial fabrication, manufacturing, construction, mechanical, pipe fitting, equipment maintenance, or industrial service experience is highly valued.
