Position Summary

The Equipment Operator I is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of simple automated assembly machines in a clean room environment. As part of our team, you will ensure the continued, high-quality production of medical devices through the careful interpretation and response to machine faults, occasional alignment of stations and fixtures, and adherence to all safety protocols. This position involves repetitive, simple tasks requiring a low level of operator attentiveness.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  

• Read and understand procedures, following company standards for safe operation.
  

• Start machines from power-off states.
  

• Perform work order set-ups in electronic batch record, data acquisition, and inventory management systems.
  

• Operate machines, jigs, and fixtures to produce quality products at established rates.
  

• Read and interpret gauges and dials as needed.
  

• Interpret machine faults, rectify issues, and restart machines.
  

• Complete production records and documentation.
  

• Perform inspection and testing of products to ensure quality standards.
  

• Weigh, count, package, and label finished product.
  

• Learn to operate simple machines quickly and efficiently.
  

• Demonstrate flexibility in operating multiple simple machines.

Simple Machine Operation Includes

• Press and torque fitments
  

• Machines typically with fewer than 10 stations
  

• Minimal operator attention and fixture alignments

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

• Basic experience in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and computers preferred
  

• Ability to read and understand procedures

Education & Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or passing Employment Assessment required
  

• Must be at least 18 years of age

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Use of solvents, glue, or solder
  

• Visual inspections with and without magnification tools
  

• Ability to talk or hear during job duties
  

• Clean room environment
  

• Sitting or standing for duration of shift
  

• Ability to repetitively lift and move objects up to 20 lbs
