Kelly Science & Clinical is hiring a Quality Assurance Coordinator for a full-time opportunity in Bridgeton, MO.

About the Role

In this role, you will support quality systems and food safety programs within a regulated manufacturing environment. Working closely with Quality, Operations, and cross-functional teams, you will help maintain compliance with FDA regulations, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure products consistently meet quality and food safety standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and maintain site quality systems to ensure compliance with FDA regulations and applicable food safety standards

  • Assist with execution and continuous improvement of food safety, food quality, and prerequisite programs

  • Help maintain audit readiness and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits

  • Monitor quality metrics (KPIs), identify non-conformances, and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

  • Conduct root cause investigations and help implement effective corrective actions

  • Coordinate product quality reviews, specification reviews, and quality documentation

  • Perform plant inspections, process audits, receiving inspections, and record reviews

  • Coordinate verification, validation, calibration, and maintenance activities for laboratory equipment

  • Support shipment and receiving inspections and maintain accurate quality records

  • Train and mentor laboratory technicians on quality procedures and food safety practices

  • Provide backup support within the quality laboratory as needed

  • Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, R&D, and other cross-functional teams to support product launches and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support preparation for customer visits, third-party audits, and regulatory inspections

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance within the food, dietary supplement, or related regulated manufacturing industry

  • Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment

  • Previous team leadership or training experience preferred

  • Experience supporting CAPA programs, internal audits, and quality systems

Key Skills

  • Knowledge of FDA food regulations, including 21 CFR 117 and/or 21 CFR 111

  • Strong understanding of food safety and quality management systems

  • Experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Experience interpreting technical data and maintaining quality documentation

  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP and LIMS systems is a plus

Preferred Background

  • Experience within food manufacturing, dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, ingredients, or related regulated industries

  • Familiarity with GFSI-recognized food safety schemes such as SQF or BRC

  • PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification or willingness to obtain certification

  • Knowledge of sanitation programs, food safety plans, and quality management systems

  • Experience preparing facilities for customer, regulatory, or third-party audits

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement or operational excellence methodologies

  • Pay Rate: $22–25/hour, depending on experience

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties requiring standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting throughout the workday
