Job Title: SMT Operator
Location: Melbourne, FL. 32904
Shifts Available: 2nd Shift – 3:30pm to 12:00am | Monday – Friday
Pay Rate: $17.00 an hour
Temp to hire

SMT Operator Overviews:
As an SMT Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines used in the assembly of electronic circuit boards. You will ensure the highest level of quality and productivity in a fast-paced technological manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, run, and monitor SMT assembly lines to manufacture printed circuit boards (PCBs).

  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, machine programs, and bills of materials.

  • Load components, solder paste, and PCBs into SMT feeders and placement equipment.

  • Inspect feeds, stencils, and solder paste to verify proper setup and alignment.

  • Conduct routine machine maintenance and keep detailed setup and process records.

  • Perform manual and automated soldering and rework as needed.

  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve line issues to maintain workflow.

  • Conduct quality inspections on finished boards using magnification tools and automated optical inspection (AOI) equipment.

  • Adhere to all safety regulations, ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions, and company quality standards.

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production team members to support continuous process improvement.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or training preferred.

  • Previous experience operating SMT machines 

  • Basic Computer Skills Knowledge of Shop Floor System ISO 9001 experience desirable.

  • Ability to read and understand technical instructions and schematics.

  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and teamwork skills.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
