Job Title: Blow Molding Machine Operator
Shift: 1st Shift (8:00am – 5:00pm)
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Location: Mebane NC
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, the Blow Molding Machine Operator is responsible for operating blow molding machinery to manufacture plastic products. The primary focus will be on training with large blow molding equipment, but responsibilities also include working with injection molding machinery and supporting more complex molding tasks to prevent mold and machine damage.
Key Responsibilities
- Start and stop machines; assist set-up personnel with start-ups, changeovers, and breakdowns
- Adjust controls, correct minor leaks, and install molds/components under guidance
- Learn to read and understand set-up sheets
- Regulate extruder speed, center parison, and perform related blow molding operations
- Care for molds, identify mold damage, and report issues to supervisors
- Identify different resins and ensure correct material usage
- Perform post-molding tasks: product inspection, trimming, reaming, drilling, and grinding flash
- Clean work areas, work tables, machine components, and grinding systems
- Maintain accurate production and time records
- Adhere to safety procedures and all company rules
- Operate any machine or process assigned within the department
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Ability to lift at least 35 lbs
- 1 year previous extrusion blow molding experience with basic mold set-up and machine adjustments
- Familiarity with resins and extrusion/injection processing
- Experience with secondary equipment is a plus
