Buyer / Procurement Specialist

– Location: Hybrid (3 Days In-Office / 2 Days Remote) in Charlotte, NC 28217
Work Schedule: Mon–Fri (7 AM–4 PM or 8 AM–5 PM)
– Hourly rate: 31$ – 40$ /h
– Contract: W2 contract under staffing supplier, with 3-month duration (tempt- to- hire)

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Buyer / Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for procuring specialized and complex materials, equipment, and services required to support our manufacturing and operational needs. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to optimize product availability, secure competitive pricing, maintain strict quality standards, and ensure exceptional on-time delivery performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Sourcing: Developing and implementing cost-reduction strategies and contract negotiations.


  • Supplier Relations: Managing the full lifecycle of vendor relationships, from selection and onboarding to conflict resolution and performance monitoring.


  • Operational Execution: Reviewing requisitions, issuing bids, analyzing proposals, and managing change orders to ensure total compliance with company policy.


  • Collaboration: Partnering with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with current manufacturing and operational requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional procurement/purchasing experience; experience within a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience working within ERP systems and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Core Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities; sound knowledge of sourcing strategies and contract administration.

  • Execution: Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced

Key Impact Metrics

To be successful, you will need to handle significant volume while moving the needle on bottom-line performance:

  • Budget Management: Responsible for an annual spend portfolio of $10M–$15M.


  • Operational Scale: Managing 3,000+ active parts and 50+ suppliers.


  • Efficiency: Executing 750–1,000 purchase orders per month.


  • Performance Goals:

    • Achieve 2–5% annual cost savings.


    • Maintain supplier on-time delivery rates of >95%.



  • Strategic Initiatives: Leading 5–10 strategic sourcing events (RFQs/RFPs) annually. environment, and collaborate seamlessly across cross-functional teams.
