What’s a typical day as Lab Sample Coordinator? You’ll be:
- Performing a variety of sample and standard handling tasks, including receipt, check-in, login, labeling, launching, inventory, transport, and check-out.
- Participating in the physical return and disposal of materials as needed to support laboratory operations.
- Communicating the status of samples and standards to appropriate laboratory staff and guiding them on correct procedures.
- Completing investigation and deviation forms, determining appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Reviewing and providing feedback on laboratory requests to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Training on SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements.
- Responding to environmental unit alarms and participating in on-call responsibilities.
- Ensuring all assignments are completed accurately, timely, and safely with minimal supervision.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have a high school/secondary school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
- Bring at least 2 years of related experience in sample handling, laboratory support, or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience
- Possess a basic understanding of inventory flow and control, and knowledge of laboratory and regulatory documentation requirements.
- Are familiar with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, effective time and project management abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a team.
- Can write and review SOPs and process improvement outlines, and are comfortable troubleshooting and problem-solving.
