We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead demand planning, forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply chain operations for a growing manufacturing organization in Detroit Lakes, MN.

  • Previous experience holding a Supply Chain Manager role

  • Strong background in forecasting, demand planning, and inventory control

  • Experience leading supply chain initiatives within a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop teams and drive accountability

Position Overview

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving demand and production forecasts to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and Finance teams to ensure accurate planning, optimize inventory levels, and align production capacity with customer demand.

This position will also provide leadership and oversight for a buyer located in the New Hope office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage short-, mid-, and long-term demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and business inputs

  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to align forecasts with business objectives and customer needs

  • Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) / Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process

  • Analyze forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvement initiatives

  • Convert demand forecasts into production and capacity plans

  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend adjustments to reduce excess inventory and prevent shortages

  • Identify supply chain risks and opportunities while developing mitigation strategies

  • Support new product launches through forecast modeling and scenario planning

  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems and forecasting tools to support data-driven decisions

  • Develop and track KPIs including forecast accuracy, service levels, and inventory turns

  • Lead, coach, and develop forecasting and planning team members

  • Oversee buyer activities and support alignment between purchasing and supply chain objectives

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead hiring, training, coaching, and performance management activities for assigned team members

  • Build a collaborative and positive team environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement

  • Manage departmental goals with a high level of autonomy and ownership

  • Ensure operational readiness through effective planning and contingency management

  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Strategically allocate resources to maximize productivity and efficiency

  • Promote strong communication across departments and alignment with organizational goals

  • Champion Lean Operating System initiatives and support execution of continuous improvement plans
