Location: South Deerfield, MA
Position Type: Contract (6–8 months with potential for extension)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (Flexible)
Pay Rate: $26.00/hour

Position Summary

We are looking for a Document Control Assistant to join our team on a 6–8 month contract assignment with the potential for extension. This is a great opportunity for someone with manufacturing experience who is looking to grow into an engineering support role.

If you’ve worked in a manufacturing environment, can read basic engineering drawings or blueprints, and enjoy detail-oriented work, we’d like to hear from you. The company is willing to train the right candidate on its systems and processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and parts lists for accuracy.

  • Help create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other manufacturing documentation.

  • Enter and update information in company databases.

  • Assist with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).

  • Maintain organized engineering files and document revisions.

  • Verify part numbers and identify missing or incorrect information.

  • Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and other departments to ensure documentation is accurate.

  • Help release updated documents to the appropriate departments.

  • Track document changes and maintain records.

  • Follow company quality and safety procedures.

  • Perform other administrative and documentation-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment (production, assembly, machine operation, quality, shipping/receiving, or similar).

  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, blueprints, or parts lists.

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.

  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes.

Preferred

  • Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs).

  • Experience using an MRP or ERP system (such as SAP).

  • Familiarity with basic measuring tools such as a tape measure, ruler, or calipers.
