Pay rate range: $28-37 per hour
Position Summary
Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for an Analytical Chemist position at a product manufacturing company south of Naperville IL. In this role, you will be responsible for testing raw materials and in-process production batches to ensure they meet established quality standards. You will utilize a variety of analytical instrumentation, including Gas Chromatography (GC), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), and other laboratory equipment to support manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and collaborative, with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing of raw materials according to established procedures and specifications.
- Test in-process production batches and communicate any out-of-specification results to the appropriate teams.
- Assist in identifying and recommending solutions for in-process batches that do not meet quality standards.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including GC, HPLC, IR, and other analytical equipment.
- Perform routine instrument calibration as required to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of testing methods, procedures, and laboratory documentation.
- Analyze laboratory data and prepare clear, accurate reports.
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and other departments to investigate issues and implement solutions.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and follow all quality and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field required.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience in analytical testing within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience with sample preparation, method validation, and production testing.
- Experience analyzing data and preparing technical reports.
- Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, including GC, HPLC, and IR, preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
