Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced HSSE Manager to lead health, safety, security, and environmental initiatives at our Petersburg, VA facility. This role is responsible for driving safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting environmental sustainability efforts, and partnering with site leadership to foster a strong safety culture.

This position follows a Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM schedule. Candidates must be flexible and available to respond to site emergencies outside of normal business hours when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage site HSSE programs, policies, and compliance initiatives.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture through training, coaching, and employee engagement.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company standards.

  • Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

  • Oversee HSSE reporting, documentation, and performance metrics.

  • Support ISO management systems and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manage contractor safety programs and assist with sustainability efforts.

  • Partner with operations and other departments to integrate HSSE into daily business activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of HSSE experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, and industrial safety practices.

  • Experience with ISO management systems and regulatory compliance.

  • Proven ability to lead safety initiatives, influence change, and improve HSSE performance.

  • Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • HSSE certifications are a plus.
