Location: Groveport
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (some overtime and occasional weekends as business needs require)
Project Duration: Two months
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Packaging Production Technician to support our department in maintaining and enhancing our packaging operations. This hands-on role requires a professional who brings general troubleshooting experience with packaging equipment, demonstrates strong mechanical acumen, and has the flexibility to learn on the job as needed. You will ensure our equipment—including packaging lines, hoppers, sealers, and bottle cappers—operates efficiently and reliably. This is a short-term, temporary, hourly position suitable for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all packaging equipment to minimize downtime and optimize production output.
- Apply your broad packaging equipment troubleshooting experience to address routine and complex mechanical challenges.
- Support equipment change-overs, set-up, and process improvements.
- Diagnose issues on packaging lines and collaborate with Equipment Suppliers for remote or on-site support.
- Design, fabricate, and install new and enhanced packaging machinery in partnership with Operations and R&D teams.
- Lead technical projects involving new product launches or packaging components, ensuring quality and operational standards are met.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure all equipment complies with sanitary design requirements.
- Assist with internal process improvements in collaboration with Distribution Center Operations and Logistics.
- Keep up-to-date with packaging technology and support qualification activities for new equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn new skills and processes on the job as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3–4 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or processing environments.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting, operating, and repairing a wide range of packaging and manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and general repair experience, with working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Quick learner with a demonstrated ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies as required.
- Proven track record of working independently, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with Operations, Quality Assurance, and R&D teams.
- Ability to operate vehicles, mechanized devices, or other equipment safely and efficiently.
