About the Role
We are seeking a BIM Lead to join our expanding team and play a crucial part in delivering high-quality 3D models for complex projects. In this role, you will drive digital project delivery by overseeing the production and management of detailed models and drawings, ensuring all work aligns with company procedures. You will also mentor team members in BIM techniques and promote digital best practices across various project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret sketches and marked-up plans to develop comprehensive project models within Revit according to company protocols.
- Set up and maintain views, document management systems, and model structures to support project teams effectively.
- Support with preparing, organizing, and transmitting project documentation, both digitally and in hard copy format.
- Retrieve project data using online collaboration platforms and manage drawing archives.
- Safeguard project confidentiality and uphold company intellectual property standards at all times.
- Guide less experienced modelers in the use of Autodesk tools and support the adoption of company modeling standards.
- Collaborate with construction teams to create precise field drawings necessary for onsite work and prefabrication.
- Facilitate virtual construction workflows and support 3D coordination between disciplines.
- Oversee or coordinate the capture and integration of laser scan data for as-built modeling.
- Utilize advanced features in current BIM applications as needed—customizing families, views, schedules, and project filters.
- Participate in field layouts, including the use of surveying and digital modeling technologies.
- Import various formats—such as spreadsheets and images—into working models to ensure complete project records.
- Operate reprographic equipment and manage the plotting and publishing of documents as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated expertise with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and related software.
- Deep understanding of 3D modeling principles and cross-discipline project coordination in a BIM environment.
- Track record of working with collaborative model-sharing processes (e.g., worksets, Revit worksharing).
- Experience developing, modifying, and managing BIM families, sheets, and data structures for digital projects.
- Proficiency in integrating data and files (spreadsheets, images, text files) into project models.
- Comfortable operating standard printing, plotting, and documentation hardware in office or field settings.
- Experience with point cloud/laser scan data processing and model integration is preferred.
- Ability to turn broad verbal and written directions into actionable project deliverables.
