Targeted pay rate range: $22-33/hr (depending on years of experience)
First shift: 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday – Friday

Position Overview
Kelly Engineering is seeking an experienced Assembler to join our clients team to support the fabrication and assembly of custom medium-voltage (MV) switchgear solutions. This role is responsible for manufacturing high-quality electrical equipment through a combination of precision fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, equipment operation, and quality workmanship.

Working within a collaborative manufacturing environment, the Technician will operate fabrication equipment, interpret engineering drawings, assemble complex products, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and test medium-voltage switchgear and electrical equipment.

  • Operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, turret punch presses, copper forming and punching equipment, and other manufacturing machinery.

  • Perform electro-mechanical assembly using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.

  • Fabricate, fit, drill, fasten, and install components to engineering specifications.

  • Support powder coating, finishing, and other production processes as required.

  • Perform inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet quality and customer requirements.

  • Troubleshoot assembly and fabrication issues while maintaining production schedules.

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

  • Cross-train across multiple manufacturing disciplines to support production demands.

  • Adhere to all company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.

  • 3-20 years of experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, or industrial production environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing documentation.

  • Experience operating fabrication equipment within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

  • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and commitment to quality workmanship.
