Job details

Job Title: Production Floater
Location: Northampton, MA 01060
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: USD 20.50 per hour
Contract Type: TTH

Qualifications:

  • GED/High School Diploma preferred

  • MA driver’s license required

  • Manufacturing experience a plus

  • Team player

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to stand, reach, bend, push, etc.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted

  • Forklift experience preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely

  • Oversee and manage production of product from raw materials through to final quality control

  • Produce a variety of rod types based on the production schedule set by the production coordinator

  • Balance mixing, extrusion, drying, cutting, and firing steps efficiently to maximize production and meet order requirements

  • Track and manage key materials and consumables for uninterrupted, quality production

  • Work with process engineering and management to troubleshoot quality or production issues

  • Complete department production and quality data

  • Responsible for start-up, shut-down, and cleanouts of all production equipment in assigned area

  • Make adjustments to processing parameters to achieve desired final specifications

  • Store raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods in proper locations

  • Operate forklift to move pallets of raw materials, totes filled with powder, etc.

  • Operate equipment at elevated heights occasionally (ladders/platforms)

  • Pack finished goods for shipment as needed

  • Load and unload trucks as needed

  • Maintain work areas and equipment
