Job Title: Processing Specialist
Location: Onsite
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST (1-hour lunch)
Type: Temp – hire


Overview:
Assurant is seeking a dependable Processing Specialist to handle insurance documents for our financial institution clients. This role directly ensures the accuracy and timeliness of homeowners’ property insurance coverage. The ideal candidate must demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to meet deadlines and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process insurance documents efficiently and accurately to meet client and homeowner satisfaction goals

  • Identify insurance policy type (e.g., PUD, Townhome, Flood, Wind) and determine the necessary actions

  • Make timely premium payments from escrow accounts to maintain continuous insurance coverage

  • Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently

  • Communicate professionally with insurance agents, carriers, and internal stakeholders to verify information and update statuses

  • Act in accordance with Assurant values and commitments, demonstrating empathy for the impact of your work

  • Address client and homeowner questions and concerns promptly

  • Build and maintain positive internal working relationships, supporting teamwork and company goals

  • Uphold smooth workflow handoffs within the organization

  • Communicate status updates and escalate issues to ensure client and homeowner needs are met

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Basic computer proficiency

  • Minimum one year of work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to adapt well to change

  • Experience in banking, finance, or mortgage lending

  • Proven success working in environments focused on production and quality

Business Impact & Metrics:

  • This role is business-critical for maintaining financial, compliance, and operational standards for Assurant and its clients

  • Timely and accurate processing impacts both client satisfaction and risk mitigation

  • Metrics for this role include processing volume, accuracy rates, premium payment timeliness, and customer satisfaction

Future Readiness & Optimization:

  • Consideration has been given to automation and AI impacts; future-state responsibilities may include digital tool usage and process optimization

  • Internal mobility and redistribution options have been reviewed; the role remains essential for business outcomes in the next 6–12 months
