Sanitation Technician – Weekend
Location: Niles, IL

Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday – 4:00pm to 6:00am
Pay Rate: $23.55 per hour

 

As a Sanitation Technician at the Niles plant, you ensure the highest hygiene and safety standards to protect both food products and the people who make them. This is a frontline food safety role involving routine and deep cleaning of production equipment, workspaces, and common areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Disassemble and reassemble production equipment for sanitation, following SOPs and Master Cleaning Schedules.

  • Clean and sanitize equipment using COP (Clean-Out-of-Place) and CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems.

  • Maintain accurate CIP logs, sanitation inventory records, and chemical concentration charts.

  • Operate digital monitoring systems and support daily sanitation documentation.

  • Use validation tools to verify sanitation effectiveness.

  • Train peers on sanitation best practices and compliance expectations.

  • Consistently follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), food safety, and associate safety standards.

  • Support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and participate in cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in manufacturing, industrial, or sanitation environments.

  • Comfortable working in variable conditions (cold, warm, humid, wet).

  • Flexible and willing to learn multiple sanitation and production systems.

  • Physically active role: frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 55 lbs.

  • Must wear full PPE including safety glasses, gloves, apron, steel-toe boots, and wet suit as needed.

  • Availability for overtime, flexible hours, and extended shifts as needed.
