What’s a typical day as Manufacturing QC Lab Inspector? You’ll be:
- Operating laboratory analytical equipment such as ICP, LECO, XRF, XRD, SEM, optical microscopes, dimensional analysis tools, and magnetometry
- Reviewing and recording analytical results in a LIMS/database system
- Supporting the development, assessment, validation, and roll-out of testing methods, guided by the Technology team
- Maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation
- Assisting in tracking and maintaining the chemical inventory
- Performing lab housekeeping and routine inspections
- Conducting routine statistical analysis (SQC) on quality data
- Participating in Gage R&R and other measurement system assessments
- Engaging in Kaizen events, safety programs, and adhering to all laboratory safety and operational procedures
- Participating in Process Hazard Analysis and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have experience and aptitude with chemical testing techniques and instrumentation
- Hold a Certificate or Associate Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related science/engineering field (required)
- Are available to rotate shifts to support 24/7 manufacturing operations (required)
- Are familiar with computers, data entry, and analysis
- Possess at least 1 year of laboratory experience, preferably in a complex industrial environment
- Have experience with chemical test methods and material characterization, particularly of rare earth materials (preferred)
- Are committed to maintaining safe work practices and participating in safety programs
