Temporary Building & General Construction Technician
Location: Hicksville, NY
Schedule: Friday 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM; Saturday & Sunday 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (3 days/week). Hours may increase based on business needs.
Pay Rate: $30.00/hour
Position Summary
The Temporary Building & General Construction Technician performs construction, repair, and facility maintenance work to support safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role helps maintain building infrastructure, complete GMP/CAPA action items, and support facility improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform general construction tasks including carpentry, drywall, flooring, painting, and minor repairs.
• Conduct routine building maintenance and corrective repairs.
• Install, repair, and maintain doors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and other building components.
• Support renovation and facility improvement projects.
• Read and interpret basic drawings and specifications.
• Troubleshoot facility issues and implement timely solutions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, and company safety standards.
• Coordinate work with Maintenance, Engineering, and contractors.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
• Complete work orders and required documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Must be 18 years or older.
• 2-5 years of experience in construction, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
• Ability to communicate in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and building maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices.
• Technical or trade certification preferred.
