Quality Control Technician- Teterboro NJ


Position Summary
The Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible for performing routine quality control testing, inspections, and documentation of raw materials, bulk products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company specifications, cGMP regulations, and applicable regulatory standards. This position supports laboratory operations, product release activities, validation efforts, and quality assurance initiatives by maintaining accurate records and adhering to established procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Quality Control Testing

  • Perform routine physical and chemical testing of raw materials, bulk products, and finished goods, including pH, Viscosity, Specific Gravity, Density, Melting Point, FT-IR Analysis, Chatillon Gauge Testing

  • Conduct visual, physical, and aesthetic inspections according to approved product specifications. Collect, prepare, and document laboratory samples for testing.

  • Record and verify laboratory test results accurately and in accordance with GLP

  • Report OOS or nonconforming results to Quality Management for investigation.

  • Perform routine calibration, verification, and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete laboratory documentation, batch records, inspection reports, and quality records accurately and in a timely manner. Review batch documentation and assist with batch record completion and closeout.

  • Maintain organized laboratory files, retain samples, and quality records.

Validation & Quality Support

  • Assist with investigations involving deviations, OOS results, and nonconforming materials.  

Material & Sample Management

  • Receive, label, and organize raw material standards and retain samples.

  • Coordinate sample collection for external analytical and microbiological testing laboratories.

  • Monitor inventory of laboratory standards, reagents, and consumables.

  • Maintain proper storage and traceability of production retains and laboratory samples.

Safety & Housekeeping

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready laboratory.

  • Properly handle chemicals, laboratory equipment, and hazardous materials.

  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or environmental concerns immediately.  Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and cGMP.

Education

  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related scientific field preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science is a plus.

Experience

  • 1–3 years of Quality Control or laboratory experience in a pharmaceutical, cosmetic, personal care, food, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environment preferred.  Experience performing physical and chemical testing.

  • Familiarity with cGMP and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
