Kelly Services is seeking Temporary Sanitation for a food production facility in Coralville, IA for possible Temp to Hire.

Job Description:
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the building and surrounding property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sweep and clean warehouse areas to uphold required cleanliness levels.

  • Empty trash bins daily and clean trash areas; operate trash compactor if needed.

  • Pull and clean pallets; scrub product bays on a rotating schedule.

  • Clean spills or product breakages; assess damages, recoup, and determine disposition according to company and food safety guidelines.

  • Perform light maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, collecting recyclable materials, and checking for leaks or ice buildup in coolers and freezers.

  • Prepare reports and forms, documenting cleaning schedules, spillages, and product damage, as necessary.

  • Track and order maintenance supplies as directed.

  • Clean additional areas such as warehouse offices, breakrooms, restrooms, and test kitchens.

  • Maintain facility grounds and dumpster areas.

  • Operate cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, and high lifts, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Training: High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Related Experience: Previous custodial experience preferred.

  • Skills/Abilities: Must be able to read, write legibly, and follow directions. Basic math skills required. Should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Equipment Experience: Operation of warehouse equipment, including reach trucks, pallet jacks, sweepers, floor scrubbers, bailers, and hydraulic trash compactors.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing/Walking: Frequent to constant

  • Driving: Occasionally (forklift, pallet jack, high lift)

  • Lifting/Carrying:

    • 1-10 lbs: Occasionally

    • 10-20 lbs: Occasionally

    • 25-50 lbs: Occasionally

    • 50-100 lbs: Occasionally


  • Push/Pull: Occasionally/Frequently (5-100 lbs using cleaning tools and equipment)

  • Climb/Balance: Occasionally (stairs, high lift)

  • Stoop/Squat/Kneel/Bend: Frequent to constant

  • Reach Above Shoulder: Occasionally

  • Grasp/Manipulate/Twist Objects: Frequent to constant (handling cleaning materials, trash, equipment)
