Lead Operations. Build Customer Partnerships. Drive Continuous Improvement.
We are looking for an experienced In-Plant Manager to serve as the primary liaison between our customer, an ink manufacturer, and their customer, a printing company. This hands-on leadership role is based within the customer’s plant and is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality supply of liquid ink while fostering a strong customer relationship.
If you have a background in flexographic ink production, color matching, and operations management—and enjoy working directly with customers to solve problems and improve processes—we encourage you to apply.
Position Summary
As the In-Plant Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact at the customer site, ensuring day-to-day ink operations run safely, efficiently, and in alignment with quality standards. You will oversee liquid ink inventory, support continuous improvement initiatives, maintain key performance metrics, and collaborate closely with both customer and internal teams to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison between the ink company and their printing customer.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through outstanding service and communication.
- Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety by implementing and sustaining daily safety practices.
- Manage and maintain liquid ink inventory to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Conduct process audits and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) that support operational excellence.
- Attend regular customer meetings and provide operational updates as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all company and customer safety policies, waste management procedures, and hazardous materials handling requirements.
- Maintain 5S standards within the ink laboratory and dispensing areas.
- Collaborate with production personnel and management to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Support efficient, on-time ink delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in flexographic ink production management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with color matching and blending procedures.
- Experience working with hazardous materials.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and make sound decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with employees at all levels, from production staff to senior leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Preferred
- College coursework or technical training.
- Forklift certification.
- HazMat certification.
- Shipping and receiving experience.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a critical customer-facing operation where your leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to safety will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction and operational success. You’ll work in a collaborative environment that values continuous improvement, quality, and strong customer partnerships.
If you’re a motivated operations professional with flexographic ink experience and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, we’d love to hear from you.
