Security Officer – 3rd Shift (9 PM – 7 AM) Zip 85008
Pay Rate: $19.08/hr. + Great benefits from the State of AZ.
Shift: 40 hours/week with 4 days 10-hour shifts
Term: Contract-to-perm, Start ASAP
Vaccine Requirements: Proof of Rubella/Rubeola (or MMR), Hep B, Varicella immunity, current TB skin test (within 12 months), N-95 mask fitting
FPCC: Must apply upon hire if not already held (Fellow in Person-Centered Care, a professional credential in healthcare that validates a provider’s expertise and track record in delivering compassionate, patient-first care.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Perform daily rounds; control egress/ingress for Civil Hospital, Forensic Hospital & Arizona Community Protection Treatment Center
• Ensure a safe and secure environment across campus
• Rotate through various assigned posts or act as interior rover
• Respond to codes, drills, emergencies; conduct building/mall safety inspections
• Assist in patient interventions and conflict resolution to support staff
• Encourage proper Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) methods
• Communicate timely information to on-duty Hospital Security Supervisor
• Vehicle, radio maintenance, safety inspections, and related documentation
• Customer service as required

Required Qualifications
• Ability to receive, transmit, and carry out written or verbal directives
• Effective verbal de-escalation techniques and language
• Knowledge of evacuation procedures & use of fire extinguishers
• Proper investigation and report writing skills
• Experience monitoring cameras & safety equipment, using radio/phone/emergency numbers
• Able to respond to hospital codes and intervene in critical patient interactions
• Maintain positive working relationships with patients, staff, law enforcement, and visitors
• Interpret and apply policies and procedures

Preferred Experience/Certifications
• FPCC (Fingerprint Clearance Card); must apply if not already held
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training
• Vaccine requirements: Rubella/Rubeola titers or MMR, Hep B titer/vaccine, Varicella titer/vaccine, current TB skin test (or QTB within 12 months), N-95 mask fitting
