Position Summary

Kelly® is hiring an Office Clerk for a client in Portland, OR. We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented professional to provide administrative, clerical, and basic accounting support in a fast-paced office environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys multitasking, maintaining accurate records, and supporting day-to-day office operations.

The Office Clerk performs a variety of routine accounting functions in accordance with established procedures while providing administrative support to department managers and staff. This position may also assist multiple functional areas of the company as business needs require.


Key Responsibilities

  • Input accounting data into computer systems for tracking, reporting, and recordkeeping.

  • Review and verify financial transactions to ensure consistency and accuracy.

  • Classify and code transactions to the appropriate accounts.

  • Identify discrepancies and assist in resolving accounting or administrative issues.

  • Reconcile bank statements.

  • Process payments and assist with balancing general and subsidiary ledgers.

  • Assist with monthly closings, annual reports, and other accounting functions.

  • Provide general office support, including mail distribution, document storage, and record archiving.

  • Maintain office supply inventory.

  • Provide backup support by answering incoming phone calls, sending reports, and maintaining filing systems.

  • Perform additional administrative and clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 2–3 years of office, administrative, accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Strong data entry and computer skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.

  • Previous bookkeeping or accounting support experience.

  • Experience reconciling accounts, processing invoices, or maintaining financial records.
