Location: Pooler, GA
Pay: $21/hr
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
We’re hiring experienced Jockey Truck Drivers to join our team in Pooler, GA!
Position Highlights:
- Full-time, day shift (Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM)
- Competitive pay at $21/hr
General Summary:
The Yard Jockey is responsible for the movement and spotting of containers within our facility, ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse processes. This role reports to the Warehouse Manager and requires a thorough understanding of inventory positioning and on-hand stock.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain an orderly and efficient storage lot to support warehouse and plant operations
- Operate the Yard Truck safely during frequent roll-on/roll-off procedures with both loaded and empty containers
- Drive at speeds under 15 mph within the plant, storage lot, and staging area
- Complete regular preventive maintenance checks and scheduled vehicle maintenance
- Operate on various surfaces (asphalt, concrete, gravel) and be vigilant with tire safety in challenging environments
- Accurately record container movements, weights, and materials on scale logs and other documentation
- Interact daily with plant staff and comply with safety procedures and guidelines
- Communicate with dispatch, operations, and warehouse personnel via cell phone or two-way radio
- Ensure the security of valuable materials and storage areas; seek guidance from supervisors as needed
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Minimum 12 months consecutive jockey truck driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Excellent attendance record
- Ability to pass a drug screen and extensive background check
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and record-keeping
