About the Role
The Growth Merchant Lead is a field-based, transactional sales position responsible for driving new business growth across emerging markets in the assigned geography. The role focuses on developing new partnerships with local and regional restaurants by traveling to targeted areas, conducting face-to-face meetings, and managing the entire sales cycle—from initial contact to deal close. The associate will coordinate with a Regional Sales Manager, leverage various market insights and sales tools, and is expected to travel frequently within roughly two hours of the home city (including some overnight and longer-distance travel). Travel costs are covered and compliance is monitored. Compensation includes a base pay and uncapped commission based on new partnership acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel extensively to expand market presence and drive new business opportunities in untapped/emerging markets

  • Develop and grow merchant relationships by selling the benefits of new platform partnerships

  • Negotiate and finalize revenue share agreements with restaurant owners

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, transactional sales environment to close deals within days

  • Strategically coordinate inside and outside sales tactics to maximize results

  • Collaborate closely with sales management and leverage provided sales tools

  • Maintain compliance with company travel policy

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of successful sales experience, ideally with a focus on SMBs in restaurants or food/beverage sectors

  • Experience in closing sales roles and demonstrated success in transactional sales cycles

  • Able to travel at least 50% of the time, including overnight and long-distance trips as needed

  • Entrepreneurial approach with ability to develop strategies and sales playbooks

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills

  • Organized, goal-oriented, and proactive in meeting objectives
