Kelly Government Solutions is seeking compassionate, dependable Mental Health Aides to support Veterans participating in the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) at the Sam Rayburn VA Medical Center. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work alongside healthcare professionals while helping Veterans on their recovery journey.

Available Shifts

Overnight Shift

Sunday-Thursday 11:30 PM-8:00 AM

Swing Shift

Tuesday-Saturday 3:30 PM-12:00 AM

Day Shift (Backup Coverage)

Tuesday-Saturday 7:30 AM-4:00 PM

Weekend and holiday coverage required as needed.


What You’ll Do

As a Mental Health Aide, you will help create a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for Veterans by:

  • Monitoring resident safety and conducting routine rounds

  • Observing and documenting resident behaviors and activities

  • Reporting changes in condition or concerns to clinical staff

  • Assisting with admissions, discharges, and resident orientation

  • Supporting recreational, educational, and therapeutic group activities

  • Promoting recovery-focused care and positive resident engagement

  • Following infection control, safety, and VA policies

  • Collaborating with nursing, behavioral health, and interdisciplinary care teams

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification prior to start date

  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic health record systems

  • Ability to complete required VA training and onboarding requirements

Preferred

  • One year or more of experience in:

    • Behavioral Health

    • Mental Health Services

    • Residential Treatment Programs

    • Rehabilitation Facilities

    • Direct Patient Care

    • Social Services

    • Human Services


  • Previous VA, healthcare, or patient-care experience


  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply


Additional Requirements

  • Ability to pass required health screenings and background requirements

  • TB testing, immunizations, and drug screening as required

  • COVID-19 and influenza vaccination compliance or approved exemption

  • Ability to stand, walk, escort residents, and perform active patient support duties throughout the shift
