Job Title: Import/Export Coordinator
Duration: 12+ Months (Temp to Hire)
Pay Rate: $30/hr
Shift: 1st(M-F)

Job description:
 

  • Manage and communicate shipping schedules for export sales orders on the floor to maintain efficient process flow through picking, quality control, and packing functions

  • Monitor, allocate, and release all export orders to floor in a timely manner. Continuously monitor stocked items for back order fulfillment

  • Request and document booking information from freight forwarder and maintain transportation instructions and charges on customer orders

  • Prepare appropriate documentation for export shipments (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, shippers’ letter of instruction, etc.)

  • Verify compliance and accuracy of Bill of Lading, Airwaybill, Inland (Straight) bill of lading, shipper’s export declaration and any other document required for international movement of product

  • Coordinate samples and provide export documentation

  • Liaise with International Customer Service and Freight Forwarders to ensure open communication with regards to the pick-up, transport, and delivery of international orders

  • Track containers and orders using appropriate internal and external systems upon request

  • Perform compliance self-assessment audits and implement corrective actions as needed

  • Assist with special projects as required (ex. duty drawback, freight tenders)

  • Keep work area clean and organized

  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
 

  • Degree preferred but not required

  • High School education or equivalent required.

  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
 

  • Excellent and complete attention to detail due to criticalness of documentation

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines

  • Ability to communicate openly and honestly

  • Must be a self-starter who is willing to learn and work independently

  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, mathematical and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
