Role Overview
The Facilities and Logistics Associate is responsible for supporting daily operations by managing shipping and receiving, maintaining workspace organization, coordinating facilities needs, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for staff. This role includes handling deliveries, coordinating material shipment between locations, supporting facilities operations such as furniture assembly and hazardous material disposal, serving as a primary liaison with facilities management, and assisting with operational projects to keep workspaces productive.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage shipping and receiving functions, including receiving deliveries, signing for packages, and ensuring correct routing
- Maintain organization and tidiness in the entryway and across shop or workspace areas
- Coordinate transport of materials between office and lab locations
- Assemble furniture, arrange for safe disposal of batteries and hazardous materials, and coordinate vendor or facilities services as needed
- Act as the point of contact with facilities management to address operational issues
- Support the engineering/team workspace by performing light assembly, odd jobs, and assisting with operational projects
- Foster a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive approach
- Experience working in facilities or shipping/receiving operations preferred
- Familiarity with safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials is beneficial
- Hands-on skills for assembly, organization, or shop support
- Effective communicator, able to coordinate across teams and vendors
- Resourceful problem solver with a commitment to operational excellence
- Valid US driver’s license and ability to travel between Bay Area offices
