Stand up/ Sit down Forklift Operator
Schedule: Mon-Fri 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Desired Start Date: September 7, 2026
Temporary: 1 month (Possible extension)
Pay rate: $20/hr
Location: Mount Vernon, IN
Duties
- Operate powered material-handling equipment, including forklifts, clamp trucks, and other power equipment, for approximately 80% of the shift.
- Load, unload, move, stock, stage, and relocate products and materials safely and efficiently.
- Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the correct quantities and product types are loaded.
- Inspect inbound and outbound products for damage, infestation, proper product codes, and compliance with customer requirements.
- Verify load accuracy, including count, stability, and product condition, and report any variances.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, reports, and documentation.
- Change equipment batteries or LP tanks and monitor equipment power sources as needed.
- Conduct daily inspections of material-handling equipment.
- Maintain equipment, work areas, and materials in a clean, neat, and orderly condition.
- Assist with physical inventory activities.
- Follow all OSHA, MSDS/SDS, company, and customer safety requirements.
- Work effectively with coworkers and warehouse leadership to complete warehouse operations accurately and efficiently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management or the customer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift operator certification is essential, or successful completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment.
- Warehouse experience
- Forklift operation experience
- Ability to operate powered material-handling equipment for approximately 80% of the work shift.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures.
- Ability to follow work procedures, safety rules, and written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow directions accurately.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and related equipment is preferred.
