Kelly is seeking a Procurement Manager to work with our client, a premier manufacturer and supplier of world-class medical devices, on a direct hire basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a private equity-backed, growing organization that is committed to making a difference in the world of healthcare. The company is currently going through significant organizational and leadership changes, so the ideal candidate will be adaptable, comfortable with change, and energized by the opportunity to help build and improve processes during a period of transformation.
The Procurement Manager will:
- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement activities (opportunity assessment, RFP/RFQ, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, renewals, and ongoing supplier management) across multiple categories
- Manage day-to-day purchasing activities, including raising POs, managing orders, and ensuring materials and services are procured efficiently and in accordance with business requirements
- Perform and/or support cost, price, and make-vs-buy analyses; develop total-cost-of-ownership views across the product/service lifecycle
- Support the development and execution of category/commodity strategies, including consolidation strategies, spend/supply assessments, and multi-year plans aligned to business objectives
- Define contract strategies; negotiate and manage supplier agreements (e.g., MSAs, SLAs, service agreements) in partnership with Legal and Finance
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships; drive collaboration and supplier performance
- Establish supplier governance through scorecards, KPIs, and business reviews; address performance issues and corrective actions as needed
- Identify supply base risks (financial, capacity, market, ESG/social responsibility, ethics, etc.) and develop mitigation plans; maintain awareness of market conditions and technology trends
- Analyze spend data and market intelligence to inform purchasing decisions, cost controls, and leadership reporting
- Partner with internal stakeholders to forecast spend, support budgeting, and align sourcing outcomes with operational requirements
- Drive process improvement, standardization, and transparency in sourcing, purchasing, contracting, and supplier management
- Maintain procurement policies, controls, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance; support preferred-vendor initiatives as applicable
- Balance strategic sourcing responsibilities with hands-on purchasing and day-to-day procurement execution
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Management, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply management experience with an emphasis on strategic sourcing and supplier management
- Experience in a hands-on buying/procurement role, with the ability to manage both strategic initiatives and day-to-day purchasing activities
- Proven experience negotiating commercial contracts and managing third-party vendors
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts, pricing models, and cost structures
- Experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Facilities teams
- Experience with eProcurement/ERP systems, contract management tools, and Excel-based reporting
- Knowledge of local vendor markets and service providers (as applicable)
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder-influencing skills
- Clear communicator with confidence engaging with buyers, engineers, suppliers, and leadership
- A do-er; must be willing to raise POs and handle day-to-day purchasing activities in addition to developing and executing sourcing strategies
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities and processes may change
- Adaptable and able to operate effectively with a high degree of autonomy and ambiguity
- Self-starter who thrives in a decentralized environment; balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Continuous-improvement mindset; able to identify and implement process changes and novel solutions
